Tony Ande grew up in a small Southern Illinois town, and worked farms and hay fields as a teenager and young adult. Tony attended the University of Illinois and his extra-curricular activities included co-founding the University of Illinois Rodeo Club, which is still active today in college rodeo.
In 1980 Tony moved to San Diego and in 1982 he went back to school to earn an MBA in Accounting. Tony became a licensed CPA and spent 20 years working in Public Accounting and volunteering for a variety of youth-based organizations. One of those organizations was the Boys and Girls Clubs, and Tony co-founded a new club in the town of Ramona in North San Diego County. In the 15 years he served on the Board, Tony held multiple leadership posts and when Tony left San Diego to move to the Pacific Northwest in 2003, the Boys and Girls Club of Ramona had gone through multiple mergers and was the 2nd largest Boys and Girls Club in Southern California.
In 2003 Tony retired from Public Accounting to work in the non-profit sector as a career, and over the next 15 years held various leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer, Director of Finance, and Vice President of Finance in organizations including Mercy Corps and Self Enhancement, Inc.
Tony was a 2014 Portland Business Journal CFO of the Year Honoree.
Tony became interested in real estate investing while working in public accounting and serving a variety of clients who held rental properties, flipped homes, built new homes, developed vacant land, and syndicated multi-unit apartment buildings. By 2014 Tony had bought and sold more than 10 homes as primary residences. At that point he began a 2-year intensive study of all types of real estate investment and has subsequently completed multiple fix and flip projects, acquired buy and hold rental properties, and invested in multi-family syndications.
In 2021 Tony founded Ande Property Solutions and, as a member of the Smart Real Estate Coach community, Tony is focused on building a portfolio of properties bought and sold using long-term funding arrangements as alternatives to traditional mortgage financing.
Tony serves as a volunteer Board member for Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation and Columbia River Chapter Gift of Adoption Fund.
Tony lives in Vancouver, WA with his wife, poet and artist Jan Lee Ande.
